This book is in three parts. Part 1 seeks to provide an interpretation of the Genesis record in harmony with the rest of the Bible and with the fossil record. Part 2 is a brief survey of the evidence for creation and evolution in the fossil record and in the living world. Part 3 points the way towards the resolution of the sterile conflict that has arisen between creationists and evolutionists. Readers whose primary interest is in the scientific evidence should read Part 2 first. The author is convinced that the Bible is a wholly inspired and infallible revelation from God and therefore consistent in all its parts. But even if you do not share this view of scripture we hope that you will allow the book to show you how we can arrive at an understanding of Gen. 1 which is in harmony with science and with the rest of Scripture.
